Grand Case Without a Car: Is It Practical?
A stay centred on Grand Case can work without a rental car when you choose accommodation close to the beach and village restaurants. Exploring the island is a separate transport decision. Start with the places you expect to visit, rather than assuming every day needs a car or that every journey can be walked.
Choose the location before the transport
Grand Case has a beach beside a restaurant village. For a trip built around those two things, a nearby apartment is a useful starting point. Check each listing's location, access and stairs against your own needs; being in Grand Case does not by itself guarantee that every walk will suit every guest.

Book or confirm your airport transfer separately from your accommodation. Tell the driver which airport and address you need, how many people are travelling and whether you have large luggage. Confirm the fare and pickup arrangements with the operator; we do not quote a universal transfer price here.
Use transport for days beyond the village
Taxis are an option for trips elsewhere on the island. The Collectivité publishes French-side taxi fares and Grand Case taxi-station information. Confirm your outbound and return plans with the operator, especially when you have a flight or a timed activity. Ask locally about bus routes if that is how you prefer to travel, rather than relying on a fixed timetable in a guide.
When a rental car makes more sense
If your plans involve a different beach or several stops most days, compare the total taxi cost with a rental car. If most days are beach-and-dinner days in Grand Case, you may prefer transfers plus occasional rides. Groceries and luggage are worth including in that comparison: a walk that is easy empty-handed can be less convenient with bags.
